Gender Legal Discrimination in Romania (Romanian Translation: „VeCe” Tudor si partea din dos)

In response to the request made by a far-right political party, Romanian senators changed the family law today. In the old formulation, marriage was defined as „the union between spouses”. The new formulation holds that marriage is „the union between a man and woman”. In this way, the possibility of gay marriages is removed from the Romanian law. The justification for this is striking indeed: C.V. Tudor, the president of the far-right „Romania Mare” (The Great Romania) party said that „we have to make these changes, otherwise we violate the Bible”. Romanian readers can read the news here
